Former King’s College London Associate Professor and Cryptocurrency Researcher Patrick McCorry said that with aggressive competition in the Ethereum (ETH) layer 2 (L2) network segment, he knows exactly which project will take the 1st position in the sector. As now it will be Arbitrum (ARB). The expert recalled that about 90% of the total value locked (TVL) is controlled by the three main networks, but the named protocol is the clear leader.

According to the specialist, Arbitrum (ARB) retains its superiority as it remains “significantly neutral”. Patrick McCorry believes that this aspect is one of the key reasons for the success of the Ethereum-based network. The point is that the startup team has never launched “official” decentralized applications, leaving room for open competition.
